The first look at the reworked Sony Xperia phone design

We know that Sony is finally planning to change the design of its phones, and we might have just got our first look at what that change will involve. Georgian site  Vortex.ge  claims to have acquired design drafts for two upcoming Sony handsets and has created renders based on them, one of which is a very angular flagship which has a mirror-like back. There are curved sections of a different shade at the top and bottom, while the front has a seemingly large screen of apparently 4K resolution, and small bezels above and below. It’s a striking design, but most striking is the claim that the fingerprint scanner will be built into the screen. That’s something that both Apple and Samsung have been rumored to be working on, so it could be a big win for Sony if it gets there first. The site also claims this phone – which might be the Sony Xperia XZ Premium 2 – has a Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, a dual-lens rear camera and f...

This Phone is Made for Gamers! | Razer Phone

It’s no big secret that Razer (the company best known for building gaming peripherals and laptops) has been building a phone. The company bought fledgling smartphone maker Nextbit earlier this year, and there’s been talk of a Razer phone ever since. Sure enough, here it is: the Android-powered Razer phone. (Not to be confused, of course, with that shining beacon of the early 2000s,  the RAZR ) The company announced the device at an event in London this afternoon. Like most things Razer does, this phone is built with a focus on gaming — which, in this case, means it’s got some pretty crazy specs: Qualcomm’s ultra-speedy Snapdragon 835 chip, the same one that powers flagships like the Pixel 2 and the Galaxy S8 A big ol’ 4,000mAh battery 8GB of RAM 64GB of internal storage, plus a microSD slot for expansion Dual 12-megapixel cameras on the rear with different levels of optical zoom — one wide angle, one telephoto. 8-megapixel cam on the front As with the Nextb...

Top 6 Best Looking Smartphones of 2017

Over the last couple of years, smartphones have  undergone remarkable changes  both in terms of technology and looks. Not many years ago, we used to have bulky devices with poor display and foot-long bezels. I know I'm exaggerating here but you get the drift. It’s 2017 and (thankfully) smartphones are no longer so ugly any more. In fact, most of them are truly stunning and crafted beautifully. Small, squint-to-see displays have been replaced by amazing OLED screens, bezels are almost history (along with the headphone jacks for few models) and the thick edges have been replaced by sleek and tapering edges. The list goes on. These changes have yielded phones that can rightly be described as stunning. And the best thing about them is that they are also packed with interesting features. Luckily, 2017 has been a year where many glass walls were broken when it came to designing and here are the phones that broke all stereotypes. 1. Samsung Galaxy S8: That Display! ...

Google has added a handful of Instant Apps to Google Play. This means you can now try Android apps without ever actually installing them on your device.
